Many thanks to Annie and David Benfield for hosting a soup lunch in aid of
CAFOD Lent fast day at their home on Thursday 5th March which raised an amazing £325! Thank you to Maureen and Marie -Claude for helping, and to all those who came to enjoy the delicious soup and cakes!
Annie told me “We invited all our friends from different activities : Open the Book, walking group, choir plus of course, people of the parish. And we had lots of donations.
Marie Claude Marchesi also put an advert in Our Lady Queen of Peace’s newsletter, and made some soup for me.
David baked 103 scones, and 30 lemon drizzles .I made gallons of soup.
We did have lots of scarfs and hand bags left over from a sale in the summer, so those were all put out in my hall. In total 35 people turned up, and we raised £325 !
The ladies in my choir did a few numbers, and we did put more fun into fundraising!
It was a great success. ”
