1 – 9 July Speak Up Week of Action – Organise or attend a local event and meet with your MP this week to ensure that the concerns of the world’s poorest people are one of the first things on their agenda.

13 July – Voices from the Field – 6.30pm – 8.30pm.  Join us at an evening reception at CAFOD Head Office Romero House 55 Westminster Bridge Road, London SE1 7JB and hear talks from our international programme staff about CAFOD’s overseas projects in Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Central America, and the passion that drives them individually in their work.  Please book your place with us via 01252 329385 or portsmouth@cafod.org.uk

15th July – Fr Peter Hughes, an Irish Columbia missionary who has spent many years working in Lima will give a talk on “Listening to the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor – the response of the Church in Latin America to Pope Francis’ call” at Christ Prince of Peace church Weybridge KT13 8JD from 10:45 to 12:30pm followed by a simple lunch. 13 August – West Wight Summer BBQ – at St Saviour’s Church garden Totland Bay PO39 0AE from noon to 6pm. Entrance is free but donations welcome.

9 September – Romero Walk – Celebrate one hundred years since the birth of Blessed Oscar Romero.  Starting  at St Joseph’s Havant and walking to Portsmouth Cathedral
