Thank you so much to Geraldine, Sue and Christine from the Isle of Wight for walking 10,000 steps in searing heat on Wednesday 24th June. So far they have raised £739 for CAFOD’ s Coronavirus appeal which is providing emergency food aid, clean water and hygiene kits to those in need in the poorest communities around the world.  They have nearly reached their total of £900 so please donate to their just giving page to help them achieve it as the money is desperately needed!

Geraldine told us “We made it! If it wasn’t for the sea breeze I don’t think we would have got round. The hottest day of the year so far 28C blue sky and no cloud, Fewer people in the morning meant it was easier to walk round and not have to do too many dances on the pavement to avoid people. We walked 4.75 miles, almost 11000 steps and said hello to a few people on our way round which was lovely. We had a chat with Wendy at the church. Thank you for all your very many generous donations.”

Keep walking

Keep walking

What a fantastic start to our challenge to walk the length of Portsmouth diocese so that is 12 miles completed with only 88 miles to go! If you would like to take part in our 10,00 step challenge then please contact portsmouth@cafod.org.uk
