Well done and thank you to Michelle for walking over 26,000 steps ( about 13 miles) on Friday 8th May to raise money for CAFOD’s Coronavirus Emergency Appeal .
Michelle told me “I had a wonderful day. Weather was glorious and I now feel I want to do it all over again! Amazingly, I felt fine the next day, too. The training paid off! Can’t believe the amount donated. People have been so generous. My original target was £300!”
Thank you to everyone who donated and here is her justgiving page if you would like to contribute.
CAFOD has launched an emergency appeal for funds, because the impact of coronavirus in countries with poor health systems will be devastating. Families without enough to eat and without access to clean water, living with HIV or in cramped refugee camps, will be very vulnerable to coronavirus. Our local experts are already in these communities and ready to help those in need, prevent the spread of the virus and protect lives. Through them, you are already helping to:
- Deliver food to where it is needed most.
- Improve hygiene, hand washing and sanitation at the community and household level.
- Produce radio messages, posters and leaflets in local languages on risks and prevention.
- Train community volunteers to carry out awareness campaign.
So many thanks to Michelle and thank you for your support .
