What an inspirational talk we had at the Harvest fast day meeting  today (7th September) at St Bede’s Church Basingstoke. Elouise Hobbs, our regional news officer spoke about her trip to Lebanon and projects which encourage young people from Lebanon and refugees from Syria  to work together in their community. The young people help with community projects such as painting school buildings and while doing that they build relationships with each other and learn about their different cultures.

We then explored Uganda which is the focus country for Harvest and the desperate need for water pumps in villages in Karamoja .These solar powered pumps  ensure that young people like Fabiano do not have to walk 5 kms each day to collect water for his family.
