Presenting the cheque to Isobel.

Many thanks to St Thomas More’s primary school Havant for raising an amazing  £422.79 for the CAFOD Lent appeal. Isobel Flynn our CAFOD school volunteer in Havant joined the school for their thanksgiving assembly to receive the cheque.

She told us” St Thomas More’s School embraced the idea of turning “Little Fish into Big Fish” through numerous activities on Lent Fast Day and throughout Lent. They transformed their “Make a Splash” artwork from Lent last year as a legacy of continued support for communities in need, turning them into fish scales for people to buy to raise money for this year’s Lenten appeal, thus delivering their commitment to living out their Corporal Works of Mercy. In addition to making this substantial donation to CAFOD, St Thomas More’s School has enhanced their library and meditation area with two new fish tanks which will provide a calming addition to the area as well as reminding children of the help and benefits fish bring to communities, like those of Florence, who live in Zambia.”
