We’re so fortunate to have such an energetic and dedicated team of Education Volunteers but we’d like to take a moment to especially thank Isabella Lally who has really gone the extra mile and visited not just the six primary schools in her native town of Southampton but an additional four others in Bournemouth too. Thank you so much!
Isabella is very experienced in delivering a wide range of assemblies including those produced in support of Fast Day and more recently, the Year of Mercy. She’s teamed up with fellow volunteer, Rosemary Peacock, to deliver the Lampedusa Cross inspired pilgrimage for one primary school who then followed this by writing special messages of hope for refugees.
One teacher wrote, ‘This was a wonderfully moving visit. The pilgrimage brought to life this tremendously important message of mercy, hope and love’ and another said, ‘..the children loved it to the point of tears’.
Thank you so much Isabella for devoting so much of your time, knowledge, sensitivity and talent to this vital role. Your ability to communicate to this young audience on a variety of global justice issues is amazing and much appreciated by children and teachers alike. You are an inspiration!
