Celebrating Campaigning

Portsmouth diocese show the love

Many thanks to all our campaign volunteers who get behind the various CAFOD Campaigns from climate change to trade. We would like to highlight and celebrate their work. For example Patrick from Sacred Heart and St Peter’s parish Waterlooville has been campaigning on behalf of CAFOD for many years. Over past two years he has been involved in promoting the Pope’s encyclical Laudato Si’ Care for Our Common Home.

In 2015 he set up a pledge challenge in his parish so that  parishioners could pledge to do small actions such as turn off the lights, walk rather than drive to church or eat less meat which would show their care for the environment. Last year he organised a litter pick in Jubilee Park and on the Hayling Billy trail to try to improve his local area. He is also a keen MP correspondent and has written to George Hollingbery MP for Meon Valley about a variety of issues including Climate Change. A HUGE thank you to Patrick for all his campaigning work and his ability to inspire others to support CAFOD’s work.

Don’t forget tomorrow 14th February to #show the love for our world by wearing your green heart and having a conversation about climate change. You can also share this moving film about climate change with others.

Please consider becoming a campaign volunteer and support our efforts to fight injustice and change the world.
