One World Week Events

One World Week

CAFOD and Christian Aid volunteers have got together in Portsmouth and Waterlooville to organise two events to mark One World Week (23rd to 30th October 2016).

One World Week is a development education charity interested in raising awareness and understanding. Simply put, their aim is to help others understand more about issues that affect us all so that positive action can be taken.

Each year, thousands of people take part in One World Week events across the country. The week is always in October, although events can and do happen all year round. These events have been organised by volunteers with one common purpose: to let others know about some of the global issues that affect us all & to recognise we can all be part of the change.

“Including you”, which is this year’s theme, focuses on migration and refugees, and encourages people to get together locally to listen to our local and global neighbours’ fears and hopes.

During the week events will be held to raise awareness to spread hope and inspire action by sharing stories and defusing myths to build a culture of inclusion.

Show your support by coming along to an event or by holding your own.
