A special thank you to our volunteers in Waterlooville this week. Patrick and Isobel Flynn organised a special stall celebrating the start of ‘Laudato Si’ Week’ last Saturday at the Sacred Heart & St Peter the Apostle Church Summer Fayre. What a great idea!
Patrick told us,
“We were delighted to be able to raise awareness of the need to ‘Care for our Common Home’ and provide information about CAFOD’s work at the same time.”
This included asking people to sign a petition to Nick Hurd, the UK’s Development Minister to ask him to support energy services overseas that the poorest people can access.
The parish had also organised a special photography competition called “The Wonder and Beauty of our Common home” which attracted 61 entries and was very popular. The display of photographs from the competition can be seen at the Waterlooville public library throughout Laudato Si’ week and here below.
Thank you so much for these great photos and for running the stall Patrick and Isobel!
