A special international brunch was held at Our Lady of the Assumption in Thatcham back in April to bring celebrate the diversity of the parish community and raise much needed funds for our partners overseas. Approximately 50 people attended and ate a wide range of foods all provided by parishioners which included Moroccan lamb, Singapore noodles, curries and chillies – to name a few! Fantastic! And they raised a whopping £405 in the process!!! Thank you so much to everyone who organised this, especially Bill Gallacher and Mike Pyne (who also provided these photos). And a big thank you to Father Kevin and all the parishioners for giving the event their full support.
The money raised will help our partners ‘Turn on the Taps’ across the world by repairing or providing water pumps and training in order to maintain them. It will also help fund hygiene programmes, education in sanitation and the building of latrines. Watch our film about this work in Uganda below.
