Racing Against Poverty!

Andover girls Run

Well done to two young supporters from St John the Baptist church in Andover who ran a rather breathtaking 7.5k around their local park in aid of our Lenten appeal and raised a staggering £200! Wow!  Thank you so much girls!  You are super stars!

And their fundraising will have double the impact this year because we have successfully secured UK Aid Match Funding for our Lenten appeal.  This means that the UK government will match pound for pound every donation made to the appeal – up to the value of £3.5M.  Terrific!

Thank you so much girls and thank you too to everyone who sponsored them. You’re donations will help our partners ‘Turn on the taps’ for thousands of people in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zimbabwe, and Uganda.

Have you been inspired by the girls’ challenge?  Take a look at our host of fundraising ideas and ‘how to guides’ and don’t forget that match funding applies to all activities organised in aid of our Lenten appeal right up to 9 May so there’s still lots of time!

  1. It’s a lovely event when children participate in healthy activities to combat poverty across the globe.
