Southampton’s Lenten Suppers

We’re very blessed to have so many dedicated volunteers who are prepared to give their time in support of our Lenten appeal this year. God bless you!  A special thank you this afternoon to all our parish volunteers in Southampton and Chandler’s Ford!

The fab CAFOD team at St Edward the Confessor, in Chandlers Ford will be hosting Lenten Suppers every Friday after the 7pm Mass.  £4 per person will provide you with a tasty soup along with bread and cheese!

Immaculate Conception in Portswood also has a sweet treat in store for everyone with special cake sales held after each Mass on the first Sunday of the month.

And every Thursday during Lent, Lenten Lunches will be held at St Michael’s Church, St Michael’s Steet, Southampton SO14 2AD at 1pm. This is a joint event with the Anglicans and parishioners from St Joseph and St Edmund Church  proceeds will be split between CAFOD and Christian Aid.

Super team from Chandlers FordAs you know, all these special events will have double the impact this year because we have once again successfully secured UK Aid Match Funding for our Lenten appeal. This means that the UK government will match pound for pound every donation made to the appeal – up to the value of £3.5M.  Terrific!

Thank you so much to everyone for helping our partners ‘Turn on the taps’ for thousands of people in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zimbabwe, and Uganda.
