New Forest Parishioners ‘Turn on the Taps’ for CAFOD!

New Forest Lent LunchesParishioners across the New Forest are holding special events this Lent to help our partners provide clean and safe water across the world.

A special Lenten supper at St Theresa of the Child Jesus in Totton will be held this Saturday 20th Feb at 7.30pm.   All you need to bring is your wonderful selves and your own tipple. The cost of the supper is £5 per person – and that is an absolute bargain because the food will be great!!!  During the evening a short film of our work in Uganda will be shown and there will be also be a special water quiz for you to try!

Supporters at St Michael’s and St Bernard’s in Waterside are holding a CAFOD Lenten Lunch on Thursday 25 February at 12.30.pm at St Bernard’s. This year the lunch will be a Ploughmans with either ham or cheese, plus a delicious dessert of crumble and ice cream! For extra donations there will also be a raffle, and the tickets are available after Masses. Another one not to miss!

And – just in case you are in Lymington, do go along to the rather wonderful Lenten lunches at Our Lady and St Joseph’s each Wednesday in Lent, from 12 noon to 1.30pm. The parish will be serving fresh home-made soup as well as bread, cheese and tea and coffee. All donations to CAFOD will be gratefully received.

And all these fabulous events will have double the impact this year because we have once again successfully secured UK Aid Match Funding for our Lenten appeal.  This means that the UK government will match pound for pound every donation made to the appeal – up to the value of £3.5M.  Terrific!

Thank you so much to everyone right across the New Forest for helping our partners ‘Turn on the taps’ for thousands of people in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zimbabwe, and Uganda.
