Wow – take a look at the amazing giant heart above! During Lent, students from Bishop Challoner secondary school in Basingstoke have shown their support for our One Climate, One World campaign.
School Chaplain Mary Lee organised assemblies with Y9 students to raise awareness of climate change and the campaign. Then, Y9 students went along to talk to all tutor groups in years 7, 8 and 9. Each student filled in a heart writing their own message about the things they love and they want to preserve that are threatened by climate change. 508 hearts were collected in total, which make up the fab display of the giant heart – thanks to school librarian and CAFOD volunteer Virginia O’Kelly who, with help from some students, cut out all the hearts and put them together!
A huge thanks to all the students and teachers involved and to Mary and Virginia for taking the lead!
To support our campaign, come along to the Speak Up for the Love Of… mass lobby in London on Wed 17 June (it’s not too late to sign up!) or, if you are unable to join us, please pray with us for the success of the day.
