Faith in Action at Reading Volunteer Fayre

_MG_9177CAFOD Volunteers, Paul Draper, Rita Belletty and Richard Tudor, were out in force recently at the ‘Faith in Action Volunteer Fayre’ held at Christ the King in Reading.

The event aimed to encourage more people to take part in practical action in the community and attracted 125 potential volunteers on the day.

Paul, Rita and Richard were on hand to speak to people about CAFOD and the Live Simply Award.  They were also on the look out for more volunteers to join the CAFOD Reading Pastoral Area volunteer team!

Other charities represented included Christian Community Action, Street Pastors, Age UK Berkshire, CIRDIC, St Vincent de Paul, Reading Jumbulance, Mustard Tree Foundation, Readifood, LIFE, ABC to Read, and Neighbourhood Action Groups.

Here in our diocese, we’re particularly looking for more volunteers to assist join our parish teams at the moment to help out with tasks such as giving out envelopes at Fast Day, putting up posters or speaking at Mass.    If you think you can help – do let us know on portsmouth@cafod.org.uk  or call 01252 329385.
