St Boniface Church in Southampton has been a Fairtrade Parish for nearly ten years. To mark Fairtrade Fortnight back in March, the parish held a coffee morning with a stall supplied by Shop Equality in Eastleigh.
People were treated to freshly made Fairtrade ground coffee, and the stall sold £75 of Fairtrade goods – a mixture of food, coffee, tea and gifts. Profits and donations went to CAFOD’s Connect2:Ethiopia project.
Organiser Mary Griffiths said, “It’s great to see our parishioners coming together in solidarity with the poor as Lent begins”.
