Every Friday during Lent, parishioners at St Edward the Confessor, Chandler’s Ford are holding Lenten suppers. The suppers are taking place after Mass and Stations of the Cross and start at around 7.45pm.
We spoke to Clare Lasker, a CAFOD supporter and parishioner of St Edward’s, to find out what impact the Lenten suppers have been having on the parish.
Clare said: “We’ve been doing Lenten suppers for years. They’re brilliant and our parish is very supportive. Our Covenant with the Poor is with CAFOD. We’ve been doing them since 1989.”
A simple supper of soup, bread and cheese is served at the Lenten suppers which have attracted more and more interest each week.
On the 9th April 2014 parishioners at St Edward’s will be holding a coffee morning.
All the money raised from both the Lenten suppers and the coffee morning will go towards their Connect2 project with El Salvador.
Well done to Clare and all of our supporters at St Edward’s! We can’t wait to hear all about what you do next!
