What’s in a Name? Head of Drama to Run Shakespeare Marathon for CAFOD

Alex Whearity, Head of Drama at Blessed Hugh Faringdon School, Reading, will be running the Shakespeare Marathon which takes place in Stratford-upon-Avon on Sunday 27 April.

Speaking on why he chose to run the Shakespeare Marathon this year, Alex said: “Being a Drama teacher, it would be rude not to. Also because of the opportunity to raise money for CAFOD.”

We’ve been keeping you up to date with all the wonderful activities that our supporters are organising in support of our #DigDeep campaign. Alex will certainly be digging deep by pushing himself to complete the marathon.

In preparation for the big event, he has been training hard and has already completed an individual run of 20 miles, as well as smaller runs of between six and 10 miles!

On the day, Alex will be running with a friend from his running club, Reading Joggers.

Alex has a fundraising target of £500 to meet. If you’d like to support Alex you can donate to his JustGiving page here www.justgiving.com/Alex-Whearity1.

We think it’s great that Alex is running for CAFOD and we’d like to wish him all the best! Stay tuned to find out how he gets on.
