Parishioners in Wokingham Stick with Foncho!

Parishioners at Corpus Christi in Wokingham showed their avid support for Fairtrade Fortnight by holding banana petition signing after all Masses. Eighty nine cards were collected in support of the ‘Stick with Foncho’ campaign.   CAFOD volunteer, Cathy Hills, sent us these lovely photos of the display that was set up in the parish and the fantastic banana bread they sold too! The fortnight was then finished off with the parish monthly Traidcraft stall. Fantastic!!! Thanks for letting us know Cathy and big hugs to everyone at Corpus Christi! Great parish!

And there’s still time to support the Fairtrade Foundation’s banana campaign if you haven’t already done so. Over the past 10 years, the typical price of a banana in the UK has nearly halved, whilst the cost of production has doubled.   Join the parishioners of Corpus Christi in asking Vince Cable to investigate unfair supermarket pricing practices and act to protect the producers of the UK’s favourite fruit here.  Thank you everyone!
