Using their Talents

Our thanks go to the English Martyrs and St John’s Youth Group in Wallingford for putting their business talents to the test and turning £10 into £170 this harvest!

Earlier in the year, Ben Oldham from CAFOD met the youth group and talked about the difference CAFOD’s work makes around the world.

Ben then gave them £10 to invest with the aim of multiplying the money as much as they could.

The challenge is part of a CAFOD scheme – ‘Harvest of Talents’.  An idea that is based on the Biblical parable of the talents, which reminds us that God gives us gifts and skills that can be used for the good of others.

The group thought of lots of different ways to raise vital funds for CAFOD and finally settled on a Beetledrive for parishioners.  As you can see from the photos, it was a great success!

Well done everyone! What a great achievement!  We are delighted!  Thank you all so much for organising this event and working so hard to raise this money. You are superstars!  A special note of thanks too to Youth Leader Andy Robins and to all the parishioners who supported the event.
