Last week, Corpus Christi RC Primary school in Boscombe, Bournemouth held special ‘Big Share’ events across all classes. Pupils gathered together to share a meal and think of those around the world who do not have enough to eat. Every class left a place at their tables for Mayling from Nicaragua, who was featured in the Fast Day materials and one class sat in a big ‘C’ for CAFOD!
This was followed by a special school visit by our Education Volunteer, Susan Kelly, who worked with Year 5 and 6 on the topic of food and hunger. Susan ran the Oxfam ‘Can you beat the system’ game which highlights the challenges that small farmers face in growing their crops.
The pupils then looked at the ways in which CAFOD helps the many people in the world who face the daily challenge of growing and providing food for themselves.
Corpus Christi you are all brilliant! Thank you so much to all the teachers, parents and pupils for your fantastic support and for these lovely photos. Fantastic!
