Westbourne parish raises money for Syria appeal

Westbourne soup for Syria

The parish of Our Lady Immaculate in Westbourne, Bournemouth, recently held a shared supper with silent auction in aid of our Syria Crisis appeal

The event raised a total of £303.20 with an additional £66 coming from Gift Aid.

A big thanks to all parishioners who took part and to our parish contact Susan Kelly who helped organise the event. The Syria appeal has now raised a total of over £1 million, thanks to the generosity of so many individuals, parishes and schools in England and Wales who have sent donations and/or organised parish collections and fundraising initiatives. The situation in Syria continues to be critical, with more than 5.5 million people in urgent need of humanitarian aid. For more than a year, CAFOD has helped Church partners inside the country to provide food, shelter and medical supplies. The generosity of donations to the Syria Crisis appeal means that CAFOD can rapidly scale up this work.
