Unfortunately, as you know, we’ve had to cancel our Supporters’ Meeting on Sat 19 January because of snow.
We will now be holding it on Saturday 9 February in Basingstoke at our original venue, St Bede’s Primary School, Popley Way, RG24 9DX. Click here to download the revised agenda. If you can attend our meeting on the 9th Feb – then do book a place with us by 1st February on firstname.lastname@example.org or 01252 329385.
Our original speaker Anne Lindsay sadly won’t be able to be with us on the 9th, however our Campaigns Coordinator Maria Elena Arana will be giving an update on our Hungry for Change campaign instead! We will also have the opportunity to update you on the latest CAFOD news from the Portsmouth diocese, introduce upcoming events, the joint IF campaign on food and hunger and look at Lent Fast Day 2013 and the available resources (all based on the theme of food).
There will be an optional session in the afternoon led by Grace Cowley (CAFOD Community Fundraising Officer) and Maria Elena. It will be an opportunity to experience hands-on our new Lenten resource “Emmaus Meal”. This will be a chance to reflect, sample food from other parts of the world, listen to the Gospel reading of the road to Emmaus and pray with others. The resource is designed to be used in parishes during Lent (and beyond), so it will be an opportunity to experience it first-hand!
We hope many of you will be able to stay for this session – but if you have to leave at the end of the morning, that’s perfectly fine. If you are staying, please note that the Emmaus meal will only involve sampling food – so make sure you bring your own lunch to eat during the lunch break!! We will provide refreshments and fruit, as usual.
For organisational purposes, it would be helpful to know whether you are able to stay for the afternoon session (no problem if you can’t).
