Take out your diary – are you free on Saturday 10 November? If the answer is yes – make sure you do not book anything else and come along to CAFOD’s Campaigns Conference at Westminster Cathedral Hall – from 10.30 am to 5pm!
The conference will be the official launch of our Hungry for Change campaign, which went live this month and focuses on the inequalities in the global food system. You will hear a lot about the campaign throughout the year, as it will last until October 2013, and the conference will be a really excellent introduction to the issues – the event is open to absolutely everyone, no matter whether you are a long-standing CAFOD campaigner or whether you have never campaigned before.
The day will feature some great speakers: Fr Joe Komakoma, General Secretary of the Southern African Bishops Conference and long-standing CAFOD partner, theologian David McLoughlin, who will be sharing his view of Jesus and Food and the Roman Empire’s food system, CAFOD’s policy analysts Anne Lindsay and Sarah Montgomery, who will help us get clued up with all the tools to talk about Hungry for change.
On the cards is also an enormous shared feast, an attention-grabbing campaign stunt, a pop-up exhibition, an opportunity to network with other CAFOD campaigners and supporters and a few surprises! A leaftlet is available here.
