The Campaigns Team invites you all to a special evening with Neil Thorns, Head of Advocacy, on Tuesday 27 March from 5pm at our HQ (Romero House, 55 Westminster Bridge Road, SE1 7JB).
Neil will speak about how CAFOD’s Campaigning and Advocacy makes a real difference to the lives of people in poverty, who we work with and alongside. He will also be giving a behind-the-scenes look at how our public policy, media and campaigning work come together to bring about change, and give a taster of our future advocacy plans. Come and learn how you can be part of it.
Hot on the heels of international headlines on water poverty, we will share the latest news about the Thirst for change campaign. You’ll also hear about plans for an exciting event in May, when we’ll be handing in thousands of actions from across the UK to No 10. Find out about CAFOD’s campaign on the Rio +20 negotiations in Brazil taking place in June and hear from a few campaigners who will share some of their Water Challenges, Walks for Water and other Thirst for Change successes (including a Lent Fast day update).
We will begin at 5pm with coffee and tea and juice and nibbles and start the formal part of the meeting at 5:30pm. We will and end the meeting with a chance to chat and network over a savoury vegetarian buffet.
If you would like to attend, please contact Maria Elena Arana, Campaigns Coordinator, by Thursday 22 March: firstname.lastname@example.org or 0207 095 5417. Do let us know if you are planning to attend!
