A great way to start Advent!

St Joseph’s church in Havant was lucky enough to enjoy the youthful talents of the Chichester University Chamber Orchestra last Sunday evening. They surprised everybody by arriving beautifully dressed in evening gowns – donated by the Mousetrap boutique in Chichester.
The colourful outfits gave a flavour of what was to come with the lively musical evening, which opened with Handel’s Arrival of the Queen of Sheba – followed by more Handel with the Concerto Grosso. All the music played was an opportunity to enjoy the orchestra’s hard work and to experience the joy and enthusiasm of the soloists.
All funds raised will be donated to CAFOD’s East Africa Appeal. £531 was collected on the evening, which is fantastic!
A big thank you to all the students and to Crispin Ward, their leader, for giving their time, and to all who came along and enjoyed the evening for their generous donations.
There will be another evening in March – date TBC. Watch this space!
