We are so very pleased this year to have two supporters from our Diocese who will be taking part in CAFOD’s Camino de Santiago challenge for us! 🙂
Angela and Martin Wills from English Martyrs parish in Reading hope to walk the final 100 miles of the Camino de Santiago, “The Way of St James” to fundraise for CAFOD. They will be flying out this Friday, 16 September.
This famous “route of the stars” takes pilgrims along the beautiful and peaceful, but rugged countryside across the north of Spain, ending at the extraordinary Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela – believed to be the resting place of the apostle St James. The route, which has existed for over a thousand years, offers a physical, mental and spiritual challenge for all who attempt it.
Walking in community with other CAFOD supporters, Angela hopes to raise at least £1,000, to make a real difference and transform the lives of some of the poorest people around the world.
If you’d like to help spur Angela and Martin on to the end, why not sponsor them on this journey and, in doing so, help some of the poorest of the world out of poverty? Just visit their justgiving page!
We wish Angela and Martin all the best for the pilgrimange and we can’t wait to hear from them about their experience once they are back – we will certainly keep you posted! Angela and Martin – thank you so much for fundraising for CAFOD this way! You will be in our thoughts and prayers! 🙂
