Take a look at those snapshots! They really give an idea of the brilliant atmosphere at the CAFOD BBQ last Saturday, 13 August, organised by the CAFOD group at St Edward’s the Confessor, Chandler’s Ford, in support of Connect2:El Salvador!
The event was a real success, as parishioner Ian Peirce reports:
“The CAFOD BBQ has become an annual event and this year was again very successful.
The success was largely due to the number of helpers. The CAFOD group not only turned out in force but roped in other helpers from the parish. With a good campaign to sell tickets, we were very grateful to have about 90 attendees. Their support has resulted in a profit of £871. Well done everyone.
Several gazebos were loaned, as well as parasols, tables and chairs. This provided a pleasant environment to relax and chat.
We were fortunate with the weather, but also had the benefit of having the cloister available to us, with extra seating, kitchen facilities and room to have a produce table.
The profits were also significantly boosted by a raffle and by the home produce table.
Thank you again for all those who helped, contributed and attended.”
We definitely would like to extend our thanks as well to everyone involved! It sounds like a fantastic day – and people’s generosity has been amazing! Another great success for the brilliant Chandler’s Ford CAFOD group! 🙂
