Do you remember Alex (pictured above), our “hero” of the Junior Great South Run in Portsmouth last year?
Well, he enjoyed the event so much last time that this year he has decided to run again – which we are delighted about!
If you have children aged 3-8 or 9-15 who enjoy running, they too could have a great day out in Portsmouth like Alex! The Mini and Junior Great South Runs this year are taking place on Sat 29 October – the day before the main run. The Mini run, for 3-8 year olds, is 1.5km (children can run accompanied by a parent) and the Junior run, for 9-15 year olds, is 2.5km. There will be separate boys and girls runs split into older and younger age groups.
Both races will be staged on a superb course right in the heart of historic Portsmouth, and there will be a whole host of super “Come and Try It” sessions on offer to make the day that extra bit special.
We would love to welcome LOTS of CAFOD Mini and Junior runners this year – and it’s not too late to apply! To register for the run, you need to access the Bupa Great South website – where you can also find more information on the day and the course. Once you’ve registered, drop us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org, so that we can provide you with a CAFOD vest and also to make sure we have a goodie bag ready for you on the day 😉
We will be there ready to cheer and make a lot of noise! 🙂
