Inspiring pupils at St Joseph’s Newbury!

Volunteer Linda Heneghan collected a cheque for over £560 from St Joseph's primary school, Newbury

Last Friday, our school volunteer Linda Heneghan from Reading visited St Joseph’s Primary School in Newbury to collect a cheque for over £560 on behalf of CAFOD! One of the 6Y pupils sent us the fantastic report below:

“On Friday 17th June, Linda Heneghan from Cafod visited St Joseph’s School and gave a presentation which urged us all to livesimply.  Linda said she was impressed by the quiet and respectful atmosphere with which pupils entered the hall to worship.  In her words “You could have heard a pin drop!”

She was also pleased to note how knowledgeable pupils were about global issues.  Linda was thrilled to hear how we have been fundraising for Cafod over the school year, as it showed how much we were already doing to live out the livesimply message.  As Linda brought our worship to a close, she was presented with a cheque for over £560 by our Head boy and Deputy Head girl.  We thank Linda very much for coming and for her fantastic work with Cafod.   Thank you, Linda!”

A huge thanks from us to everybody at St Joseph’s school, pupils and teachers, for their inspiring support and generosity! And to Linda for delivering yet another great assembly! 🙂
