Making Choices with JACY!

Earlier in March, we were really privileged to be part of yet another fantastic day for 150 confirmation candidates organised and delivered by JACY (Jersey Association of Catholic Youth).

Entitled ‘Making Choices’, the day featured a whole range of relevant issues to young people – including sessions on ‘Why do we need Jesus?’  and ‘How can we know forgiveness?’

Pure in Heart gave some fantastic talks on relationships and there were also sessions on vocation and reflective meditation.  A real range of issues and topics to hear about, discuss and question!  But also a chance to get up and get active outside by taking part in a prayer walk with Gifts of the Spirit prayer stations

Our session looked at the choices we make every day – such as the choice we’re making to become confirmed and how it will affect our relationship with other people – both in our local and global community.   We also took a look at where some of the things we depend on actually come from and how our decision to choose one product over another can affect people living thousands of miles away.

I don’t know where Mary Cahill and the team get all their fab ideas and boundless energy from!   They always make sure everyone has a great time and enjoys themselves!    Thank you so much to Mary, Lyn and all the helpers on the day – and of course all the young people I met for all their enthusiasm and good humour!    It’s always a pleasure to visit Jersey and thank you all for your support for CAFOD.
