Parishioners at St John Bosco in Woodley had their chance to Act on Poverty on the weekend 10-11th July. The signing of postcards, which fitted perfectly with the Sunday Gospel (the parable of the Good Samaritan), was organised by our volunteer Rita Belletty.
Parishioners were encouraged to sign and “post” cards after all the Masses, and more cards were taken home.
Parishioner Paul Draper made the “No 10 door” and a display (pictured below) advertising both Act on Poverty and the Walk to Church weekend (this weekend, 17-18 July – watch this space for updates on that front!) on the back altar wall.It is wonderful to see more and more parishes “acting on poverty” or making plans to do so in the forthcoming weeks – please keep sending your photos and stories to add to our “Act on Poverty” collection on the blog!
A million thanks to Rita and the members of the parish Climate Change Action group for organising yet another successful event!!!
