At Our Lady’s Preparatory School in Crowthorne, children, staff and parents have been busy raising money for Haiti – and had fun at the same time!
Fundraising began with children and staff dressing up, and paying for the privilege, followed by a Ladies and Children’s Fashion Show which was well supported by parents of children at Our Lady’s as well as others in the community.
A total of £585 was raised for CAFOD, and our school volunteer Berna Parnell was thrilled to visit the school to collect the cheque. Berna thanked the school for working so hard to raise the money.
Mrs Robinson, Headmistress at Our Lady’s said: “It is part of the family ethos here at Our Lady’s to encourage the children, no matter how young, to consider that they are lucky to have so much and to understand that there are many less fortunate in the world. The staff have discussed the suffering caused by the disaster in Haiti with the children in simple terms and have highlighted that fact that the money raised will help get their lives back to some kind of normality.”
A big thank you to everybody at Our Lady’s for their fantastic efforts!
