12th March is a very important day for CAFOD! It is the official launch of our International Climate Justice campaign.
Over 200 people attended the very special launch event in London at Westminster Cathedral Hall last Thursday.
The speakers included Ed Miliband MP, Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, our director Chris Bain and Lay Sophea and Kim Sarin, two Cambodian environmental experts from our partner Development Partnership Action (DPA). The campaign will last all throught 2009 so there is plenty of time to get your parish, friends, family, collegues involved in it and we hope you will all take part in the challenge!
We aim to send a message loud and clear to the world leaders who will be meeting in Copenaghen in December to negotiate the post-Kioto agreement.
The new campaign cards and materials are now available to take action in your communities – if you want to know more, or if you are planning to organise a local event big or small, we would love to hear from you and offer help if you need.
